    Job Description

    Responsibilities
    Hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
    Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.

    Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.

    Ensuring that all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial legislation.
    Analyzing financial data and creating reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties, such as vendors or lenders.
    Maintaining accurate and complete financial records and participating in audits or reconciliations, as needed.

    Assisting other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.

    Keeping informed about the latest developments in the finance industry.
    Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
    Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spend controls
    Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
    Participate in financial standards setting and forecast creation process
    Assist with tax audits and tax returns
    Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
    Plan, assign and review staff's work
    Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
    Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
    Liaise with our Head of Accounting to improve financial procedures
    Standardize procedures to generate efficiency in-house and create internal templates to be used by the company.

    Organization of the accounting activity
    Relations with the internal customers, justify the balance sheet and cut-off entries
    Participation in service projects and any task decided in agreement with the Head of Accounting
    Proactively update processes as-needed to increase team efficiency
    The Successful Applicant

    Required Skills
    Professional experience 8 to 10 years minimum in a similar position
    Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
    Self-starter comfortable with taking the initiative while having the ability to collaborate within a team
    Good resistance to stress, rigor and work organization
    Interpersonal skills essential to ensure a good relationship with internal and external customers
    Mastery of the Office Pack (Advanced Excel skills required)
    Mastery of the SAP tool would be a plus (recent and substantial experience) and technical appetite (tools and software)
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
    Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA)
