    Production Manager

    Magnitude of Position

    The Production Manager leads the team and activities relating to Production at the manufacturing site in Sterling, Illinois. The position provides strong leadership and management capabilities to focus on operational excellence, safety, production efficiency, and quality, providing high levels of service to Micron customers and achievement of the financial and operational strategy for the company.

    Environment of Position

    A manufacturing facility of control transformers in which teamwork, respect and integrity is espoused. Works closely with Scheduling, Materials, Quality, Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, and Customer Service to ensure Micron Product is delivered on time according to specifications. Functions independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team. Works in an office and manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and typical manufacturing conditions.

    Qualifications/Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Operations Management, or related field. A mix of Education and Experience will be considered.
    • At least six years of progressive leadership experience in a fast-paced production environment.
    • Experience in manufacturing models with little to no available forecasting.
    • Experience with manufacturing process improvement through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TQM or other methodology.
    • Practical working knowledge of Capacity Planning, Manpower Utilization and Line Balancing.
    • Models the Values of Micron in all Interactions (Accountable, Collaborative, Customer Focus, Own and embrace Change, Respectful and Data Driven)
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and ability to quickly learn the Syteline system
    • Experience in developing and coaching
    • Strong business acumen and data analytic skills
    • Experience with managing cross functional teams

    Accountability

    The Production Manager is accountable for safety, production efficiency, labor utilization, and product quality. The position is responsible for the leadership and development of the position's direct reports, and for following established company policies and practices.
