    Glenwood CommunityThe Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods; and also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

    Essential Functions Statement(s)

    • Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dish machine
    • Sorts and stacks clean dishes and carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas; rewashes soiled dishes before delivering
    • Changes dishwater in dish machine every hour
    • Washes pots, pans and trays by hand
    • Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area when needed
    • Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
    • Assembles/disassembles dish machine, as necessary
    • Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and free of hazards
    • Notifies manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
    • Ensures that hands are always sanitized before handling clean dishes, as well as maintains other sanitary procedures
    • Removes food trash and garbage to dumpster, as necessary
    • Performs all other duties as assigned or directed

    Education: None
    Experience: Six (6) months or more of commercial dishwashing experience desired


    Other Requirements: Must be able to read labels on chemicals; knowledge of workplace safety procedures; must be able to adhere to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook.
