Description
Job DescriptionIntermountain Electronics, Inc. is seeking a General Manager for our Denver, Co production facility.IE is a leading provider of custom engineered and manufactured process and electrical systems to the renewable energy sector, oil & gas, mining, data center, and power/utility industries in North America.
IE's turnkey products are generally mobile - mounted on skids or in portable e-houses.Our products include electrical control rooms (MCCs/VFDs/Switchgear), portable power/generators, substations, water-flood/disposal buildings, compressor skids, metering equipment, mining power skids, battery storage skids and other products used in multiple sectors.
Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of business management in the Denver facility and is thus accountable for the full P&L (both top and bottom-line results).
Management responsibilities include:
planning and scheduling, project engineering and management, production management (includes: procurement, welding/fabrication, paint, electrical wiring and assembly, facility/equipment maintenance), quality, safety, and facility-related human resources and finance/reporting activities
Major Job Duties:
Strategic / Commercial / customer related activitiesRepresent Denver Facility in company-wide annual strategic planning processesEnsure prioritization of critical regional accounts and sectorsIdentify and Address any facility competitiveness issues, whether commercial (pricing, relationships, customer service) or operations driven (cost, schedule, quality)
Provide facility "application engineering" and technical support to help close important sales / accountsIdentify key industry trends or changing customer needs- work with corporate to ensure company prioritization and sufficient investment Operations/SafetyManage production to annual (and monthly/quarterly) delivery and margin goals; ensure effective communication to production team on progress against monthly and annual goalsOversee capacity planning and shop-loading/schedulingIn "crunch time", make necessary trade-offs between individuals customer delivery requirements, company overtime, and lead times/order bookingHold engineering and manufacturing accountable to productivity and schedule goals; use dashboards to track key performance indicators, measure progress, and hold supervisors accountable.
Ensure all quality standards are met;Lead from the top in establishing safety culture; take all steps required to ensure compliance with internal and external environmental, safety, and health standardsResponsible for supporting facility safety programs and training and following applicable laws and company policiesEnsure proper resourcing and execution of company strategic initiativesEstablish environment for continuous improvement; lead development of plans for profit improvement, cost reduction, etc.
as required by business conditions Personnel, HR, and facility back-office supportLead annual planning and budgeting processes for facility - both capital and operations budgets - ensure effective returns on capitalHire / fire in accordance with approved planOversee performance management and evaluation of facility workforce; including mentoring, training, and professional development; assist in resolving complaints and disciplining employeesReport on financials and KPIs to management on monthly basis.
Supervisory /Leadership AccountabilityOversee facility day-to-day operations and work schedule; set prioritiesEnsure all operational and business functions are carried out with the highest standards of quality and efficiencyPerform effective internal conflict resolution, employee reviews and disciplinary action as neededEstablish performance improvement initiativesTrain new staffIdentify opportunities for and conduct ongoing training with staffSupervise staff effectively, maintain open communications and manage conflictsLead by example Salary Range:$170K-$220K depending on experienceExperience and SkillsRequirementsBachelor's Degree in Production Management, Business Administration, Engineering or other technical disciplineMinimum seven years of high level manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in an industrial/electrical products industryDemonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully lead a manufacturing organization in achieving targetsDemonstrated ability to lead, train, and coach employeesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsTrack record of managing and delivering quality products on time Demonstrated ability to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize / prioritize work, to stay current with assigned workload and to problem solveKnowledge of standard fabrication production processes, procedures, machinery & safe work practicesProficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access) as well as manufacturing ERP softwareKnowledge of basic Human Resource laws, regulations and administrationAbility to perform effective internal conflict resolution, employee reviews and disciplinary action as neededStrong interpersonal skillsMust be able to travel up to 30% of the time
