    Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

    Key job responsibilities

    Specifically, in this role you will:

    Own and lead all Kuiper inbound/outbound and ground operations and programs

    Scale logistics operational capabilities and capacities

    Engage in short, medium and long-range planning activities

    Intake ground and/or inter and multi-modal projects

    Own capacity planning tools and processes as required for ground operations

    Determine key analytics and measures of success and provide data which assesses KPI/SLA adherence to contractual requirements

    Maintain operational visibility to all shipments in transit, perform track/trace/claims management for any anomalies

    Review ground transportation lanes and recommend new transportation lanes as needed

    Measure corrective actions, maintain a metrics dashboard and ensure accurate milestone reporting

    Create SOPs, Work Orders, Contracts and related items and cost capturing

    Exhibit a constant passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience

    Work closely with air and ocean program manager to design and optimize first, middle and last mile solutions for customers

    Ability to travel domestic/international up to 25% of the time

    Ability to work an alternative schedule or perform work during non-standard days/hours as business needs require

    Manage a team of transportation professionals

    Basic Qualifications

    5+ years of experience in academia and operations and/or a combination of both related to transportation, supply chain operations or logistics

    3+ years of ground transportation experience, planning, and first, middle or last mile service delivery

    3+ years of experience managing third party logistics providers in a global environment

    3+ years of experience managing and developing teams

    3+ years of experience performing strategic planning and proven experience delivering a scalable transportation solution

    Preferred Qualifications

    Be comfortable with ambiguity and curious to learn new skills

    Curious to learn in depth about both technology and our customers concepts, and pushing your comfort zone.

    An effective multi-tasker who navigates a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with grace and efficiency.

    Experience with inventory management, inbound/outbound, and warehousing

    Experience with global trade compliance and supplier compliance auditing

    Experience with dangerous goods or prior certification 49CFR, IMDG, IATA regulations

    CSCP or similar industry certification

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $131,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
