    Position Purpose:
    Performs a variety of cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurodiagnostic tests. Prepares test results for physician interpretation.

    Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne.


    What you will Do:
    Performs quality control procedures on cameras, computers, calibrators, and survey meters.

    Prepares radionuclides for administration to patients

    Interviews patient to ensure correct identification and pharmaceutical for correct procedure and provides patient education.

    Administers radioactive pharmaceutical to patient through IV injection.

    Performs nuclear medicine dynamic and static imaging procedures on patients.

    Processes study using computer analysis, sending images for interpretation via a network transfer

    Provides communication of information about Nuclear Medicine study to the Radiologist.

    Maintains records needed to ensure that licensure by regulatory agencies.

    Performs various tasks associated with receiving, processing, distributing, storing, and disposing of radioactive materials.

    Maintains ALARA for self and patients.

    Collaborates with other departments to ensure appropriate and timely patient examination.

    Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures

    Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include:

    Birth-28 days: Neonate

    1-18 Months: Infant

    18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler

    3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged

    6-12 Yrs: School-Aged

    12-18 Yrs: Adolescents

    18-65 Yrs: Adults

    65+ Yrs: Geriatrics

    Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.


    Hours/Schedule:
    20 hours per week

    Hours are flex


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Graduate of a nuclear medicine technology formal education that is recognized by the ARRT or NMTCB. Licensure by the State of Iowa Public Health Radiation Safety division required. BLS. Mandatory Reporter.

    High language, high math, high reasoning ability.

    Personal computer skills required.

    Ability to perform multiple simultaneous tasks. IV injection skills preferred. Ability to communicate with patients in a caring, compassionate manner. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
