Who will you be working with?

Wabtec Diagnostic Specialists and Lead Diagnostic Specialists are deep knowledge experts on the mechanical operation and troubleshooting of our locomotive fleets. These employees staff our 24x7/365 Global Performance Optimization Centers (GPOCs) and work as part of a high performing, fast paced, and valuable team of technical professionals.

This position may be filled at the Diagnostic Specialist or Lead Diagnostic Specialist level, based on experience, education, and knowledge of the selected applicant. Positions on the GPOC team span multiple career levels and associated pay bands. Each level is commensurate with a combination of education, experience, and knowledge that can be gained from time on the GPOC team, from roles on other Wabtec/Field Services teams, or even from outside the company entirely.

Applicants are evaluated against the minimum required levels of knowledge, experience, and education for each level and placed at the corresponding grade when they join the team. Team members enjoy a clearly defined learning and career path as they are routinely evaluated for potential promotion to the next commensurate level as their experience and expertise increase.

While the job description may encompass similar tasks at each level, the level of expected proficiency at each task increases as team members promote from one grade to the next. Team members can also look forward to the opportunity to participate in special projects, in addition to their daily duties, as their knowledge base and experience increase over time.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Global Performance Optimization Center team, you will have the opportunity to remotely monitor and help troubleshooting of some of the more complex issues our customers and field services employees encounter - providing broad exposure to a wide range of customers and products.
