- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect eye diseases.
- Diagnose and manage conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, retinal disorders, and macular degeneration.
- Perform surgical procedures such as cataract extraction, corneal transplants, and laser vision correction.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment, including fundus cameras, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual field analyzers.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.
- Advise patients on eye health maintenance and treatment options.
- Coordinate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated patient care.
- Stay updated with advances in ophthalmology and implement best practices in patient care.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote eye health awareness.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Ophthalmology.
- Active state medical license and DEA registration.
- Completion of a residency program in Ophthalmology.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Ophthalmologist preferred.
- Proficient in both surgical and medical management of ocular conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient education and care.
- Commitment to high standards of patient safety and quality of care.
- Willingness to engage in continuing education and stay informed about advancements in the field.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
