    Description

    The Manufacturing Quality Control Tech assists in the implementation of optimal quality, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards to ensure that Skeeters customers receive a product that meets or exceeds their quality requirements. The Quality Control Tech works within all aspects of the Quality Control Department and final build processes to ensure a smooth transition from build to delivery. The Quality Control Tech will assist in corrective actions required to complete the build process. The Quality Control Tech will assist in training the assembly techs. The Quality Control Tech reports directly to the Quality Control Manager but works with the entire manufacturing team to ensure quality commitments.

    Essential Functions:
    • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, documents and reports.
    • Demonstrate compliance to our quality goals and commitments.
    • Assist in ensuring manufacturing systems are consistent with documentation of the Quality Control systems.
    • Represent manufacturing quality on cross-functional teams.
    • Apply Lean manufacturing principles after training (e.g. 5S, standardized work methods, CI, etc.).
    • Train manufacturing team in quality related topics for continuous improvement.
    • Conduct and oversee final inspections and customer approvals.
    • Perform daily shop floor inspection checks at each work center.
    • Assist in rework and inspection operations.
    • Shuttle vehicles to and from outside vendors.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:
    • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites - MS Word and Excel.
    • Clean driving record.
    • Knowledge and practical experience in quality systems and manufacturing processes.
    • Must be proficient in reading prints.
    • Must be proficient in reading customer specs.
    • Must be open to learn and willing to participate in Lean Manufacturing methodology.
    • Must be goal oriented with good oral and written English communications and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to effectively interact and maintain a professional image with customers and team members.
    Required education:
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    Required experience:
    • Quality and/or Manufacturing Processes
    • Fire Service Equipment
