    As a

    Special Process Engineer


    Paint seal and adhesive your will design, test, and implement advanced technologies to improve aircraft performance, safety, and reliability, so we continue to deliver excellent aviation solutions.

    You'll collaborate with other departments to ensure that our products and services meet the highest industry standards.


    Responsibilities:
    Accountable for team response on flight/product safety critical parts and processes
    Liaison with Enterprise Manufacturing sites regarding component repairs, inspection and compliance
    Drive best practice and business improvement opportunities through an Enterprise Network of Aerospace Professionals.
    Focal for multi-discipline OEM technical reviews, CAR actions
    Focal for Repair Development project executions
    Focal for Process Engineering Enterprise project support / compliance audits.
    Support special projects which may involve travel.

    Process Control and Improvement


    Analyzes, develops and recommends methods to meet production requirements, improve economy and quality, and reduce turn-around-times for products and/or processes with supporting cost analysis.

    Establishes, analyzes, and acts upon measures of performance related to processes.

    Investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies relating to equipment and processes to reduce variation and improve reliability.

    Coordinates and interacts with the outside resources including contractors, equipment vendors, and supply vendors for process support, improvement, or repair development.

    Remains current with state-of the-art technologies and processes.
    Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
    Carries out special projects as assigned.


    Education Requirements:
    University degree in Chemistry, mechanical or chemical engineering; or equivalent.
    Degree in Materials Engineering.

    Preferred Skills

    Ability to develop a business case proposal for new productivity improvement technologies working with Operations and contractors for justifications, budget & timeline
    Ability to prepare a Technical Specification and Cost Benefit Analysis for procurement of capital equipment.

    Liaises with management in the procurement process
    Ability to define a plan for local Engineering to approve MRO repairs and equipment to Airworthiness Requirements
    Experience in a leadership position
    Experience developing repairs with Aerospace OEM
    Effective time management and organizational skills
    Effectively communicate in a professional manner
    Effective at planning, team building, performing analytical evaluations, & decision making


    Required Skills:
    Working knowledge of 14 CFR 21, 43, 45, 121, 145 and Industry standards (AC7108, AC7109, AC7200, etc) for Chemical Process - Stripping, Cleaning, Plating, Painting and Sealants
    Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
    Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
    Strong project management skills.
    Thorough knowledge of company process, company instruction and rework process instruction manuals.
    Thorough knowledge of aerospace materials and processes.
    Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing process engineering environment.
