    JOB SUMMARY This role is responsible for executing a sales plan assigned by the Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) company. The goal is to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory by effectively promoting and selling the company's products. Responsibilities also include demonstrating products and services to customers and assisting them in choosing the best options.
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business for Sysco Specialty Meat Group's products and services.
    • Conduct in-person visits and presentations to both existing and potential customers.
    • Take customer orders with a focus on sales and profit maximization goals.
    • Respond promptly to customer issues and requirements.
    • Analyze daily sales and margin reports for improvement opportunities.
    • Stay updated on market conditions, product applications, and competitive activities.
    • Participate in training, customer events, and sales meetings.
    • Manage accounts payable relationships and communication.
    • Ensure accurate pricing and customer information to minimize errors and returns.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    Education
    • High School diploma
    • Preferred: 4-year degree in culinary arts, business, marketing, agriculture/animal science or related field
    Experience
    • 2 years of previous experience in food service and/or sales preferred.
    Professional Skills
    • Extensive knowledge of meat and seafood categories or restaurant/culinary background.
    • Ability to engage in consultative sales.
    • Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
    • Excellent customer relations skills and a sense of urgency.
    • Basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Outlook.
    DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY Key decisions made independently: Approach to customer relationships, time management, customer pricing, and self-motivation. Decisions requiring review/approval: Sales strategy, pricing approvals, and authorizing credits/returns.
    Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors (include the reviews/approvals required):
    • Sales strategy.
    • Contract pricing and customer pricing.
    • Authorizing credits and returns.
