    We provide child well-being services to help children live in a safe and nurturing environment. We provide services to parents needing education and guidance to improve their parenting skills so their children can remain with them. We also provide services to children who are placed with foster families until they can return home or become part of an adoptive family.

    Job Description
    • The Mental Health Consultant (MHC) will provide a supportive function to the home visiting programs relative to parental and infant mental health through staff development and training, coaching, consultation, and best practice initiatives.
    • This position provides mental health consultation to staff, families, or other professionals to determine where recommended services should be sought.
    Job Requirements
    • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling or equivalent required or currently participating in a master's degree program (social work, psychology or counseling) with the expectation to graduate within 12 months of hire.
    • Knowledge and experience working with expectant families, infants, and children.
    • Knowledge and experience working with families experiencing mental illness.
    • Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
    • Ability to work and establish rapport with a variety of audiences including participants, internal staff, and community partners.
    • Familiarity with community resources.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Excellent communication and coaching skills to interact effectively with families, employees, managers and administrative staff.
    • Good organizational skills and computer skills.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective consultation to leadership and direct service staff.
    • Ability to develop and implement quality initiatives and programming.
    • Comfort level with public speaking and group facilitation.
