    Our growing client is seeking to identify an Accounting Manager, responsible for the coordination of all accounting functions.

    This is an onsite role located in downtown New Orleans, LA.
    This position includes the timely and accurate processing, recording and reporting of accounting transactions.

    The Accounting Manager will provide hands on supervision to the Cash Receivable Accountants, the Accounts Payable Clerks, the Client Trust Accountants, and the Staff Accountant.

    The Accounting Manager will also provide secondary review on the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting the organziation's performance and financial results, including the monthly reporting package as well as other analyses of financial activity and cash.

    The Accounting Manager should have a demonstrable understanding of accounting principles and business processes related to accounting. The Accounting Manager must also be aware of the importance of accuracy and meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.
    This position directly reports to the Director of Accounting, and is currently vacant due to a recent promotion.

    In addition, this position must work directly with various partners, directors, salaried attorneys, paralegals and secretaries, as well as coordinate with the regional office accounting staff.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    The Accounting Manager shall be responsible for the following functions:

    • Provide direct supervision, including mentoring and coaching, to the Cash Receivable Accountants, the Accounts Payable Clerks, the Client Trust Accountants, and the Staff Accountant.
    • Assist the Director of Accounting in the development of and compliance with accounting controls and procedures.
    • Full responsibility for the coordination of all accounting functions, including transactions performed in the regional offices and the review and maintenance of functional area checklists.
    • Ensure all New Orleans and regional office accounting staff perform their duties in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Firm.
    • Perform financial analysis on the financial results of the firm to identify potential cost reductions and savings and budget inconsistencies.
    • Ensure the Firm's monthly financial reporting package is prepared timely and accurately.
    • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of the capital expenditure budget and projection summaries as well as schedules of partner asset purchases and disposals.
    • Ensure the proper coding of capital expenditure invoices and debt payments.
    • Assist in the preparation of required schedules and analyses for the annual budget and mid-year projection.
    • Ensure accounting personnel are cross trained in all aspects of their respective functional areas.
    • Provide training to new and existing team members as necessary.
    • Prepare and conduct performance reviews for all New Orleans office accounting personnel.
    • Perform an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures.
    • Work with the Director of Accounting to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
    • Prepare daily/monthly reports for the Executive Director, and the Partners.
    • Provide training to new and existing team members as necessary.
    • Manage the procedures to meet the unclaimed property compliance rules and regulations.
    • Manage timely submission to IRS.
    • Submit personal property rendition reporting to all city/county for all offices timely.
    • Manage Sales and Use taxes reporting to all city/county for all offices timely.
    • Perform all duties in a professional, polite, and courteous manner.

    Education and Experience Required:
    B.S. in Accounting or a business-related college degree required.
    The ideal candidate must be a CPA.
    Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience with at least three being at the supervisory level or above.
    Big 4 experience is a plus, but not required.
