    The general salary range for this position is $70,000-$83,000. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.

    The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation's most effective animal protection organization, is seeking a Compensation and Benefits Analyst for the Human Resources department.

    In this position you will manage the day-to-day compensation needs across the organization, including but not limited to, job grading, base pay administration, job offers, internal/external market analysis, and compliance.

    Take the lead on salary survey participation and analysis. The position will work in concert with the International Compensation Analyst for continuity of process and policy. This job is primarily Compensation-related but will support the Benefits function as well.
    Compensation Responsibilities;


    • Assess market data, candidate experience, and internal equity and determine appropriate compensation for job offers, promotions, reorganizations, etc.;
    • Perform market pricing for new, modified, and reclassified positions. Evaluate jobs to determine appropriate fit into job architecture, salary structure, and determine FLSA classification;
    • Responsible for tracking spot bonuses, stipends, and other compensation awards;
    • Responsible for company-wide job description database, maintenance, updates and audits;
    • Perform compensation research and analysis, showing proficiency in utilization of market data systems/platforms (i.e., ERI, Mercer, , Payfactors, etc.);
    • Assist with compensation analysis, calculations, implementation and notifications pertaining to all annual and/or reoccurring compensation processes, including, but not limited to Annual Merit Increase Process, Annual Promotion Process, and the Annual New Position budget cycles;
    HRIS and Operations Responsibilites


    • Ensure the integrity of employee data by performing regular updates and audits, including employee tenure, experience, and education. Create and run miscellaneous reports for management, and HR Team;
    • Monitor and update employee tenure, experience, and education externally from HRIS;
    • Become SME with HRIS, market pricing tools, and benchmarking;
    • Partner with Payroll, HRIS, and HR Operations to ensure quality of employee data;
    • Participate in annual surveys by gathering and organizing data for third party vendors;
    Benefits Administration Responsibilities


    • Provide support to the Benefits function on a regular basis to include new hire benefits enrollment, leaves of absence, open enrollment, and others;
    • Terminations and COBRA processing and other status changes impacting benefits eligibility;
    • Share leave of absence, workers compensation and ADA cases with Benefits Manager;
    • Responsible for vendor billing, including self-bills, and submitting for payment. Would also research errors and/or delinquent invoices;
    • Assist in handling incoming calls to HRAssist for Total Rewards;
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience required;
    • A minimum of four (4) years of compensation and at least two (2) years of benefits experience required;
    • Demonstrated knowledge of international compensation is a plus;
    • Demonstrated knowledge of compensation administration, compliance, and practices;
    • Demonstrated knowledge of benefit program administration, compliance, and practices;
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and evaluate complex data and information to develop analysis and recommendations;
    • Very high attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to excellence and performance improvement and the drive to deliver quality and value-added results and outcomes;
    • Ability to read and comprehend the content of documents and take appropriate and timely action;
    • Strong editing and grammar skills;
    • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting in a courteous, timely, and diplomatic manner with all levels of staff as well as other parties/stakeholders involved with the organization;
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to organize, articulate, and present ideas both verbally and in writing;
    • Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines with an appropriate sense of urgency;
    • Ability to work independently, as an effective team member, and with all levels of the organization
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated competency in Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) usage. Knowledge and experience with Ceridian Dayforce a plus.;
    • Ability to handle information of a confidential nature and ensure that such information is secured and maintained in an appropriate manner.
    This position is in the DC Metro Area- Remote Eligible
