    Description

    Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specialized in Thermal Management for the Energy Storage & Optimization sector to join their hardware engineering team.

    The perfect candidate is a proactive individual who excels both autonomously and collaboratively in a diverse team setting. It is crucial for this role to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment as the industry and company experience significant growth.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Develop and enhance battery module designs to align with specific requirements, including energy density, power output, thermal management, and safety.
    • Create mechanical, electrical, and thermal components for battery modules such as cell holders, busbars, cooling systems, and enclosures.
    • Work closely with cell suppliers to ensure seamless integration within the battery module.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to refine assembly processes, tooling, and fixtures.
    • Support the shift from prototype to mass production, encompassing pilot builds and ramp-up activities.
    • Oversee suppliers and projects to guarantee on-time delivery within budget constraints.
    • Conduct various battery cell test experiments, document procedures, and perform tests in a laboratory setting.
    • Utilize CFD analysis with Ansys Fluent to explore innovative thermal cooling solutions for battery systems.
    • Develop a Digital Twin of the energy storage system using Matlab software for ECM and thermal model generation.
    • Design mechanical components and features intended for use in the energy storage sector.
    • Create and document test procedures, assembly instructions, and system documentation.
    • Engage in teamwork to devise optimal solutions for customers and development programs.
    • Support manufacturing and system deployment activities by resolving issues to ensure products meet specifications.

    Minimum Experience and Educational Requirements:

    • MS degree required, PHD preferred
    • 3-5 years of product development and mechanical engineering experience
    • Proficiency in Solid Works, Inventor, AutoCAD, Matlab, Simulink, and Ansys
    • Experience with energy storage systems preferred
    • Deep understanding of electrochemical energy storage principles and lithium-ion battery technologies
    • Knowledge of heat transfer and thermodynamics
    • Ability to address customer needs and challenges
    • Ability to maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong team player mentality
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach
    • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
