    Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician


    GENERAL OVERVIEW:
    This position is focused on receiving, cleaning, distributing, and storing medical instruments and equipment.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, and sterilizes medical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods and substances. (30%)
    • Receives, stocks, packages, and distributes medical instruments and equipment. (30%)
    • Performs quality assurance testing, inspection, inventory management, and supply reordering. (30%)
    • Disposes of biohazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and unusable equipment. (10%)

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Minimum

    • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
    • Certification requirements must be met within 18 months from the date of hire.
    • National certification as a Central Service Technician required.
    Preferred

    • Experience in a sterile processing or hospital environment.
    • Currently enrolled in a surgical tech/sterile processing program.
