Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage inventory levels, optimize warehouse operations, and leverage data analytics to ensure accurate stock control. Your expertise will support our supply chain efficiency, enhance procurement processes, and contribute to overall operational excellence.
Duties
- Oversee inventory management processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as AS400 or similar platforms
- Conduct data mining and analysis to identify trends, forecast demand, and inform stocking strategies
- Perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and implement process improvements for stock accuracy
- Coordinate with procurement teams on sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations to optimize pricing and supply chain costs
- Manage shipping & receiving activities, including order fulfillment, materials handling, and logistics coordination with third-party logistics (3PL) providers
- Utilize data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau to report on inventory metrics and supply chain analytics
- Support demand planning efforts through data collection, analysis skills, and forecasting models
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management, warehouse distribution, or inventory control within a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as AS400), and data analytics tools like SQL, Power BI, or Tableau
- Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; certification preferred
- Familiarity with procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and contract management in retail or e-commerce settings
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement continuous process improvements
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for strategic decision-making
- Prior experience in demand planning, logistics coordination, or production planning is highly desirable
