    Sales Manager

    Director of Sales & Event Services


    DEPARTMENT:

    Sales ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Sales Manager at the DeVos Place.

    The Sales Manager handles convention center sales to achieve budgeted annual revenue goals.


    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Represents DeVos Place while selling the facilities to potential clients. Executes, tracks and amends DeVos Place contracts for all clients. Schedules DeVos Place events per the approved booking policy. Attends meetings and functions of area business groups as needed for the result of booking new and repeat events. Works closely with Experience Grand Rapids and the Amway Hotel Collection in booking events and maximizing event usage. Establishes relationships with local businesses and organizations in an effort to maximize usage of facilities. Travels as needed to participate in sales blitzes, conferences, meetings, and client meetings. All other duties/responsibilities as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Experience in a hotel or convention center environment in the sales, marketing or customer service area. Excellent organizational and communications skills required. Working knowledge of marketing/sales strategies required. Bachelor degree in marketing/public relations, Hospitality Management, or Communication preferred. Working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Adode PageMaker preferred. Background in industry standard software systems a plus.
