    We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Development Manager to assist our Sales Manager in developing a well-trained sales staff that meets or exceeds all sales quotas, increases market share and customer base while maintaining the highest ethical standards and observing company policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with staff management and leadership to ensure a high-performing sales team.

    • Meet and exceed established location sales quotas through effective sales strategies and techniques.

    • Collaborate with Sales Counselors to utilize methods as set forth in training manuals while adhering to company policies and procedures.

    • Provide initial and ongoing sales instruction to ensure Sales Counselors meet or exceed customer needs.

    • Help manage Sales Counselors, acting as their primary reference for aftercare processes, prospecting, product knowledge, sales presentations, closing skills, prices, terms, paperwork, sales guidelines, compliance issues, and customer service delivery.

    • Analyze competitor pricing to maintain a competitive edge.

    • Develop marketing programs tailored to the geography, demographics, ethnicity, or religions of the community.

    • Plan and participate in community events to generate prospects and increase awareness of the location.

    • Ensure expense management aligns with company financial controls.

    • Review pre-need contracts and at-need cemetery contracts for compliance with HMIS, state, provincial, and federal laws.

    • Approve discounts offered to customers while maintaining financial control.

    • Presentation of reports demonstrating compliance with financial controls.

    Operations Support

    • Maintain marketing materials, training manuals, sales equipment, and other sales supplies to ensure a professional environment.

    • Ensure sales programs, incentives, awards, and sales presentations adhere to company policies and budgetary guidelines.

    • Maintain sales rooms and offices in a clean and orderly fashion to provide a professional atmosphere for Sales Counselors and the public.

    Compliance

    • Evaluate that all sales counselors follow the Code of Conduct and obtain proper licensure.

    • Guarantee compliance of sales practices with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations.

    Requirements

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Experience

    • Sales experience not necessary, but preferred.

    • Sales Counselor and sales supervisory experience desirable.

    • Presentation, training, coaching, and motivating salespeople and sales forces experience advantageous.

    Licenses

    • Valid state/province driver's license with good driving record required.

    • Insurance license as prescribed by each state board.

    Skills and Abilities

    • Familiarity with Windows-based PC environment and MS office applications.

    • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems beneficial.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    • Capacity to work beyond standard business hours when necessary.

    • Ability to set challenging yet achievable goals for employees.
