- Review exam orders, consult with radiologist, schedule patients, and organize transportation as required.
- Identify patients, document all relevant information for final reports in RIS and PACS.
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures as requested by clinicians, ensuring proper protection against infectious materials.
- Demonstrate proficiency in setup and administration of IV contrast media, explaining procedures to patients and engaging with relevant medical personnel.
- Ensure patient completion of contrast media questionnaire, assess venipuncture sites, and administer contrast injections.
- Operate contrast media power injector, monitor patient response, and notify medical staff of any adverse reactions.
- Supervise Radiographers and ancillary staff, provide instructions on procedures.
- Conduct specialized CT examinations, perform equipment checks and maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Report incidents promptly, maintain radiation safety standards, and ensure equipment functionality.
- Participate in professional development, continuing education, and assist radiologists during procedures.
- Ensure thorough documentation of examinations and maintain patient and data confidentiality.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety guidelines.

Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Computed Tomography (CT) technologists utilize CT scanners to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues for medical diagnosis.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, coordinate and supervise the activities of Radiographers, Nurses' Aides, and/or clerks. Schedule patient procedures and conduct CT imaging following protocols. Ensure availability of CT services in coordination with other departments and facilities under supervision.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimum Qualifications
1. For Supervisory Assignments: valid Diagnostic Radiography license and registration as a Radiologic Technologist in NYSDOH; at least two years of relevant experience, including one year in a supervisory role.
2. For Specialized Imaging Assignments: valid Diagnostic Radiography license as a Radiologic Technologist in NYSDOH; possession of advanced certification for specialized procedures.
