    Hourly Wage: $18.13
    Schedule:
    • Monday-Thursday: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (9 hours)
    • Every Other Friday: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (8 hours)
    Build, Fix, Maintain - Be the Backbone of Our Operations
    We're looking for a skilled and dependable General Maintenance Worker to join our HEO team at HELSTF. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in quality workmanship, and thrives in a safety-focused, team-oriented environment. With minimal supervision, you'll help keep equipment, facilities, and operations running smoothly every day.
    What You'll Do
    General Maintenance & Repair
    • Perform maintenance and repairs across multiple trades, including:
      • HVAC
      • Carpentry & machine work
      • Facilities maintenance
      • Electrical
      • Heavy equipment
    • Replace electrical receptacles, wiring, switches, fixtures, and motors
    • Repair or replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
    • Perform general maintenance on machinery and equipment
    • Read and interpret blueprints and freehand sketches
    • Complete sheet metal work as needed
    Equipment & Site Support
    • Dispense fuel for site vehicles
    • Serve as crane and forklift rigger for lifts
    • Act as a spotter for backhoe and trencher operations
    • Maintain and organize the sling loft
    • Accept and complete special assignments as directed by your supervisor
    Professional & Company Responsibilities

    • Attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings
    • Adhere to dress code and all organizational policies
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
    • Follow all Health, Safety, Security, and Hazardous Materials policies (OSHA, SDS, HIPAA, Workers' Compensation)
    • Represent the organization professionally and support its mission, ethics, and goals
    • Carry and respond to work phone communications promptly
    • Operate company or personal vehicles as required (company vehicles must be kept clean)
    • Demonstrate respect for diversity and work effectively within a diverse community
    What We're Looking For
    Education & Experience
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum of 4 years' experience in general maintenance work across trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical
    Licenses & Driving
    • Valid Driver's License (driving required)
    • Ability to drive trucks up to 26,000 GVW
    • Ability to operate forklifts up to 15,000 lbs
    • Ability to operate a man lift platform
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Practical, hands-on knowledge of multiple maintenance trades
    • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internal databases
    • Strong safety awareness and ability to maintain compliant work areas
    • Knowledge of and respect for cultural and ethnic diversity
    Background & Security Requirements
    This position requires successful completion of multiple background and security checks, including:
    • Office of Inspector General / CMMS Exclusions List
      •
    • Driving Record (MVR)
      •
    • General Background Check
      •
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI Federal Background Check
