    The Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is dedicated to providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art clinical care, teach medical students/observers/residents and engage in clinical / translational research.

    The pediatric specialties service at VCU Health/the Childrens Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at VCU is the regions only full-service childrens hospital, offering comprehensive emergency, primary, secondary, advanced, tertiary and long-term care, with more than 40 pediatric medical/surgical services.

    The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at (VCU) seeks a BE/BC, fellowship-trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist to join a robust and growing academic practice.

    Applicants should have a strong interest in clinical care, teaching, and research, as well as demonstrate a commitment to fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.

    Salary and academic appointment will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
    This position will provide clinical expertise and care toward surgical treatment of all Otolaryngology anomalies. The physician will support the training and teaching of Otolaryngology residents as well as other students and observers.

    The Department fosters a level of research and professional activity essential to the GME program (Otolaryngology residency) and to the professional growth of the faculty.

    There is energy and momentum around advancing childrens health in Richmond.

    In 2017 the CHoR Pavilion, a 640,000 square foot, multi-story, high-tech ambulatory facility for pediatric outpatient medical, surgical and radiologic services was opened.


    This facility includes:
    ~Clinical pods composed of 12 exam rooms, 1 treatment room, support space for a centralized clinical team.
    ~ Pediatric-dedicated imaging, operating rooms, and procedure rooms.
    ~ An attached, 7-story parking deck with more than 600 spaces.

    May 2023, we opened the Childrens Tower new free-standing, full-service Pediatric Hospital, directly connected to the existing outpatient Pavilion, an entire city block will be dedicated and designed to meet the unique health care needs of children and to provide Richmond the most advanced and coordinated care possible.

    Teaching Faculty member will participate in the teaching of residents, medical students and other students & observers.

    Research Faculty member shall establish a reputation of excellence in clinical and/or translational research, with the expectation of publication in refereed journals and potential external funding.

    Mentoring of residents and students in their research.
    Service Faculty member will serve on departmental, Health System and/or University committees as needed. Service in a professional capacity in their field in such areas of reviewer, external committee member, conference organizer, etc. Other - (for instance administrative duties, etc.) Board certified/eligible in Otolaryngology
