Duke Cardiology of South Durham - 234 Crooked Creek Pkwy #540, Durham, NC 27713We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certifiedtobe an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.
Will float to Arringdon clinic when needed.$Only new hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months (at the time of offer) are eligible to receive the commitment bonus.
Answer telephones
Update and file patient medical records
Arrange for hospital admissions
Handle billing and bookkeeping
Perform other administrative duties as directed
Clinic Duties may include but not limited to the following:
Taking medical histories and recording vital signs
Sterilize medical instruments.
Promote patient/family understanding of the educational content and his/her involvement in the plan of care, and document in patient record.
Telephone prescriptions to a pharmacyDraw blood
Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant programaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
High school or GED graduation required.Level II 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting.
