    BBSI is currently accepting applications for a Metal Straightener for our aerospace manufacturing client in SE Portland.

    Straighteners work to straighten both large and small metal castings and parts to meet dimensional tolerances. These individuals are very important to ensuring that products meet both company and customer specifications.

    Each day, Straighteners perform tasks such as:
    Mechanically correcting dimensitons per specifications.
    Determining dimensional acceptability of parts.
    Ensuring compliance with customer specifications.

    Training is provided on-the-job, however, experience in metal work, grinding, welding, or a similar field is desired.

    Additionally, skills and abilities, such as the following, ensure success within this role:

    Casting or metal straightening/fabricating skills.
    Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications and directions on tech cards, blueprints, and drawings.
    Ability to use and read dimensional tools like calipers, gauges and micrometers.
    Abilitity to independently solve problems and work with limited supervision.
    Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing fifty to eighty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred pounds.


    This position does require the ability to work in difficult working conditions that may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, awkward physical positions and other elements for extended periods of time.

    Additionally, Individuals may have contact with or be required to handle hazardous waste.
