- Screen all individuals and items entering public entrances to the Satellite office building;
- Operate metal detector, x-ray scanning equipment, and other surveillance equipment;
- Conduct regular walk-through security checks of the interior and exterior office buildings;
- Monitor, test and respond to emergency alarm systems;
- Responsible for issuing receipts and securing payments by probationers in controlled safe;
- Perform general clerical functions including answering incoming calls; screen and log in arrival times of probationers; and provide prompt notification to the officers of probationer's arrival.
- Deal with the public and at times with difficult people;
- Maintain a smooth running waiting area;
- In-process visitors and direct or escort to appropriate location;
- Control security doors to allow for authorized delivery, vendor, and law enforcement access;
- Monitor security camera live feeds and investigate incidents using the security camera system;
- Ability to drive various types of vehicles not to exceed Class C licensing;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of security practices and procedures;
- Knowledge of security equipment and monitoring techniques;
- Ability to communicate verbally by telephone and radio;
- Skilled in monitoring multiple surveillance screens simultaneously;
- Ability to adjust to rapidly fluctuating situations and to deal with hostile, abusive, or irrational individuals;
- Ability to collect payments and provide written receipts to probationers;
- Ability to operate a personal computer, two-way radio, and closed circuit TV;
- Ability to recognize and detect potential weapons or contraband;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and the general public.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- Basic skills in operation of standard office equipment;
- Basic knowledge in operating Windows-based word processing and spreadsheet software;
- Basic knowledge of CSS Case Management System.
