Our exciting growth and expansion have created the need to add a Design Engineer to our team

    SUMMARY

    The Design Engineer role will be part of a high-performing product development team, collaborating on innovative designs for near-term production launches. This position will be responsible for the design and analysis of new and modified components and subsystems in accordance with engineering standards and project scope to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and can be manufactured efficiently.

    HOW YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE

    • Design new mechanical systems that integrate with the existing chassis/truck systems
    • Develop component layouts using 3D CAD software
    • Prepare engineering documentation/drawings
    • Evaluate multiple criteria during the design process including cost, weight, reliability, ease of manufacturing/assembly, and service/maintenance
    • Provide project support and technical assistance during prototype or production build
    • Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc
    • Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems
    • Perform or assist in the testing of trucks and/or components

    BASIC QUALIFICATION

    Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or other similar Engineering degree

    WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT

    • Previous internship or design experience in the automotive, agricultural, or mobile construction equipment industry
    • Previous internship or design experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment
    • Willingness/desire to learn and develop multidiscipline engineering skills (hydraulics, fluid mechanics, electronics)
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Experience using 3D CAD modeling software
    • Ability to read and develop engineering drawings
