    Position Summary: The Pediatric Neurotrauma Program Coordinator, is responsible, in collaboration with the Medical Director of Neurotrauma, for all aspects of the Pediatric Neurotrauma Center (PNC). The program coordinator facilitates an integrated multidisciplinary care approach for neurotrauma patients from pre-hospital care through Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland (BCHO) admission to outpatient follow-up care. The Coordinator is responsible for staff education/professional development, ensuring patient and staff satisfaction, and in collaboration with the medical leadership, Trauma Services, Critical Care and Acute care to design a care delivery model that is clinically appropriate and financially sound. As a member of the Trauma Services Leadership team, this role will work collaboratively with Trauma Services to participate in quality and education initiatives, as appropriate, for the PICU/ED staff and other BCHO staff that relate to the Neurotrauma Program. This position has a dual reporting relationship to the Neurotrauma Medical Director and the Trauma Program Manager.


    Position Requirements:


    Education: Master's Degree in nursing or related healthcare. Previous clinical/management experience in clinical program management may be considered in lieu of education.


    License/Certification:

    Current California Registered Nurse license required. Nationally recognized professional certification (ie ANCC), preferred.


    Experience:

    3 years critical care experience required. 2 years leadership experience required.


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    Progressive, flexible, team oriented. Fluency in Spanish, preferred. Billing/authorization experience, preferred. Data system design and management experience, preferred. Experience with quality improvement systems, such as Lean, preferred. Competence with computer systems and adequate skills for EMR use required. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
