Team Pay:
$36.00 Responsibilities: Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs of the people we support
Coordinate preventative and routine medical care for people supported
Document nursing care provided
Provide clinical supervision or oversight for licensed practical nurses and med techs as deemed necessary
Assist with educational and training programs for new employees to include planning, conducting, and scheduling in a timely manner
Conduct employee performance evaluations and develop performance improvement plans
Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Assist physicians with on-site medical clinics where applicable
Provide health related trainings to unlicensed personnel
Teach medication administration training to unlicensed personnel when state law allows
Conduct medication pass observations in the home to ensure staff competency
Complete skill competency checklists on delegated healthcare tasks
Teach the people we serve to monitor their health
Provide medication administration training to people who are able to self-administer medications
Conduct medication closest assessments
Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health related tasks as assigned
Conduct routine nursing assessments
Observe for and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician
Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported
Position Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program
BSN preferred, but not required
Current registered nurse license with no restrictions to practice nursing.
Must be able to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families
Must be able to work independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks
Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification Physical requirements include: ability to regularly lift 20 pounds. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
