    Responsibilities

    SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to follow menus and instruct Food Service Workers.
  • Ability to ensure sanitation of department.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations related to measurement and proportioning of foods.
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner and communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, supervisor and other hospital employees.
  • Ability to supervise subordinate staff to achieve effective delivery of services.
  • Must have skill sets to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions.

    Qualifications

    Total education, vocational training and experience: High school diploma or equivalent. One year previous experience in a food service setting in an institutional setting. Training or experience in preparation of food for therapeutic diets or hospital food service preferred
