- Act as lead for a small crew engaged in the maintenance and repair of all equipment, structures and grounds, involved at a wastewater treatment plant.
- Supervises the daily inspection of the plant to verify everything is in proper working order.
- Assures all work stations are clean and orderly and the grounds are well maintained.
- Maintains records of maintenance performed and supplies used.
- Coordinates jobs being done and what materials are needed.
- Assures work is completed properly and safely.
- Schedules personnel for specific tasks.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Performs grounds maintenance including mowing, pruning, trimming, weed eating, and weed spraying, seeding, watering, and other landscape related projects.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Ability to lead a crew of maintenance personnel in performing routine and more difficult projects under sometimes adverse conditions.
- Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
- Ability to operate computers for data entry and word processing.
- Ability to learn new software and improve processes with existing software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skill.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting.
- Ability to safely operate and repair medium equipment and machinery, such as scissor lifts, forklifts, vehicles or commercial mowers.
- Ability to safely operate and repair heavy or complex machinery, such as construction equipment, or water plants.

SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Assistant Wastewater Treatment Superintendent, this position supervises and performs skilled mechanical work in the service, maintenance and repair of pumps, motors, engines, compressors and other equipment at a wastewater treatment plant.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience in Wastewater Maintenance, .
