    With tremendous market success in our Cloud Applications, especially in ERP Cloud, Higher Ed institutions have expressed unprecedented interest in embarking a cloud adoption journey with Oracle.

    Student Information Systems, a critical functional area to complete in our SaaS footprint for Higher Ed, is one top investment priority for Oracle.

    The Principal Applications Engineer plays an important role in Oracle's plan to disrupt the market. This role is responsible for developing product features and differentiators for the Student Cloud. As part of the Higher Ed Development team, this role works with product management, development, technical support, UX, QA, etc.) and will also be working with other developers.

    This is a development position.

    The successful candidate will develop an understanding of all (relevant) Oracle, industry and related technologies, Fusion tech stack and other cloud products, and will be responsible for the continuing development of a world class, scalable product architecture and intuitive Student Cloud products which will be used by institutions and students world wide.


    As a technical member with the Oracle Student Cloud development team, you will work on solving complex technical problems that provide substantial customer value and differentiator.

    You will be in regular interactions with other key leaders and developers and work with team members spread across the globe.

    This is an extremely challenging, very fast paced, extremely rewarding and highly visible position.

    Responsibilities

    Build full stack software solutions using libraries and frameworks.

    Solve complex technical challenges and implement process amongst the development teams.

    Provide technical support to a large, world-wide team.

    Implement application design patterns and development practices.

    Leverage technical abilities and relationships to inspire and influence others, internal and external teams.

    Collaborate on technical solutions with technical management and senior individual contributors.

    Requirements

    Development experience in SaaS/Cloud as well as in enterprise software solutions.


    Commercial experience as developer of complex cross application products and/or underlying infrastructure that has shipped and in use by large number of customers.

    High degree of competence in written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with technical management.

    BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area, multiple domains preferred.

    6+ years of software engineering and technical experience.

    Hands on experience building end to end software solutions and demonstrating the ability to implement a design.

    Highly familiar with Agile methodologies and experience in guiding agile teams.

    Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.

    Self driven and highly motivated by meaningful and impactful work.

    Ability to work in an extremely fast paced and challenging environment.

    Excellent command of written and spoken English.

    Passion and empathy for human/consumer centered design.

    Skills

    Backend

    Java/C#/Python or other object oriented language.

    Basic knowledge of database design and writing queries.

    Median knowledge of REST service implementation.

    Median experience in unit testing and test automation (jUnit, REST).

    Front end

    Experienced with more than one JavaScript framework (Angular, React, etc...).

    Experienced with unit testing (Jasmin, Mocha, Chai, etc...).

    Experienced with functional automation testing, Selenium.

    Experienced with JavaScript Build libraries.

    Experienced in CSS/CSS pre compilers (SASS, LESS, etc...).

    Experienced in Mobile development.

    UI Component development.

    Experience with JavaScript ES5, JavaScript ES6, and/or TypeScript.

    Experience with NPM, NodeJS, Deno

    Bonus

    Basic knowledge in accessibility

    Basic knowledge in data security

    Basic knowledge in UI security

    Basic knowledge in JavaScript design patterns.

    Basic knowledge of pipeline tools (Jenkins, TeamCity)

    Experience with:
    ADF, ADF REST, OCI, Oracle JET, Oracle Visual Builder

    US:

    Hiring Range:
    from $76,100 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.


    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

    Paid time off:
    Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits.

    For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.

    Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

    11 paid holidays

    Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
