    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department for our portfolio of our residential apartment complexes.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
    • Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Maintain and reconcile general ledgers and financial records using Yardi, our preferred general ledger system.
    • Coordinate with property managers to ensure accurate and timely billing of rents, management of accounts receivable, payment of expenses, and issuance of tenants final account statements.
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring compliance with Income Tax Basis of Accounting (OCBOA) and various debt covenants.
    • External tax accountants take care of this for the Principals.
    • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
    • Liaise with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

    Requirements:

    • 2-4 years of relevant experience and CPA
    • Proficiency in Yardi or a similar general ledger system, with a strong understanding of real estate accounting principles.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Knowledge of and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
