Synthesis Chemist - South Pittsburg - Colonial Chemical, Inc.

Summary/Objective:

Support the company by developing new products, supporting existing products, and interacting with customers

Essential Functions

· Conduct bench-scale synthesis to support new product development

· Conduct bench-scale testing of formulations

· Participate in process improvement

· Provide technical support to the manufacturing plant

· Consult with quality control department and provide technical input as required

· Be able to work and communicate effectively with personnel from quality control, production, and management

· Interact with sales representatives and customers to address technical issues and explore innovations

· Occasional travel to trade shows or customer visits with sales personnel may be required

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. 

 Required Education and Experience 

· Bachelor's degree in chemistry

· Experience working in a laboratory position with synthetic and analytical skills is a plus

· Knowledge of surfactant chemistry highly desired
