Description

Our client is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on professional to serve as their first Director of Engineering and help their team continue to build great products. You will be instrumental in driving the technical development of our mobile application and coaching platform, ensuring they meet the highest quality and usability standards. You will own the technical strategy and execution of our applications, data/analytics, infrastructure, and security.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee front-end and back-end development, DevOps, and security resources and their projects

• Oversee technologies to implement needed Business Intelligence and Ar6ficial Intelligence solutions

• Monitor reliability and performance of all systems to suggest improvements

• Ensure compliance with security regulations, and ensure proper security governance and technologies are in place to ensure product and customer information is secure

• Manage software development projects by seeing requirements, goals and timelines

• Prepare and manage the engineering department's budget

• Work collaboratively with Product team to build strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources

• Hire technical resources / manage third party delivery firms and coordinate their training

Qualifications:

• Work experience as a Manager or Director of engineering or in a similar senior-level position at an engineering department

• Extensive experience with cloud technologies and modern web and mobile applications

• Hands-on experience in back-end and front-end development, DevOps, informa6on security, technology operations

• Experience with Business Intelligence Technologies (e.g., databases, ETL, data marts / data lakes, reporting / analytical tools) as well as familiarity with Ar6ficial Intelligence especially GenAI concepts, tools, and vendors

• Demonstrated experience in defining technical architectures, managing third party vendors, driving innovation while managing technical debt

• Experience architecting, developing, and opera6ng SaaS / mobile solutions that are reliable and highly available

• Experience with defining and testing disaster recovery strategies and plans

• Great understanding of agile methodologies

• Leadership abilities with a strategic mindset

• Strong project management skills, including proficiency in product management tools such as, Jira, Linear, Notion, ClickUp, Figma, etc

• BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field Desired traits
