    Summary

    Under limited direction, the Cloud Data Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, performance, and up-time of the Cloud Data Warehouse at HTLF.

    The main goal is to ensure the accuracy, availability and consistent performance of the data that supports corporate reporting and analytics needs


    PRIMARY & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Design, develop, and maintain Cloud Data Warehouse and analytics architecture to meet the enterprise's business analysis, data and reporting needs
    Gather and document business requirements
    Create and document technical needs and designs for databases and ETL processes that ensure optimal technical infrastructure is utilized
    Design, develop, and support new and current database structures employing industry standards and best practices that support loading and storage of data for analytics and reporting
    Design, develop, and support new and current ETL processes employing industry standards and best practices to enhance loading of data from and into different source/ target systems
    Design and implement ETL procedures for intake of data from both internal and external sources
    Ensure that all design and code is compliant with data governance rules and standards by performing data validation and quality checks
    Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders in ensuring data warehouse architecture development and utilization
    Carry out monitoring, tuning, and database performance analysis
    Perform the design and extension of data marts, meta data, and data models
    Ensure all data warehouse architecture code is maintained in a version control system
    Manage aspects of the warehouse such as data sourcing migration, quality, design and implementation
    Identify, research, and resolve technical problems as well as answer user questions
    Serve as a point of escalation and resolution for data integrity or performance issues and outages
    Evaluate current system capabilities to identify changes that need to be made and determine the impact to the business while ensuring that programming and software requirements fulfill business objectives
    Assist in establishing and maintaining Service Level Agreements
    Provide on-call support based on the database recovery timeframe
    Remain up-to-date on the latest industry trends; articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
    Work with project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements
    Follow established methodologies during system development and ensure systems adhere to the standards and procedures established by the IT department
    Develop and maintains all system related documentation
    Perform other duties as assigned
    Complete annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function

    REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelor's Degree in an

    analytical related field, including information technology, science, and engineering

    or equivalent years of experience

    • 7 years of experience with Snowflake and SQL Server
    • 10 years of experience with Informatica Cloud IDMC platform – Batch Integration
    7 – 10 years experience in advanced SQL development
    5 – 7 years experience developing shell scripts
    Experience using source control tools such as GIT

    • 7 years of experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization methodologies
    Demonstrated experience with Data Warehouse/Data Lakehouse design, development and testing
    Experience with Kimball & Inmon Data Warehouse methodologies
    Experience working with dimensional models
    Experience understanding change data capture concepts and related implementation options
    Ability to evaluate data flows to provide suggestions to optimize delivery output, adhere to security protocols, and/or remain compliant with quality control standards
    Banking - Financial Planning and Analysis experience preferred
    Experience with gathering requirements and preparing specifications
    Ability to work in an agile matrix managed environment required
    Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
    Accurate and precise attention to detail
    Excellent analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
    Ability to document procedures and build work instructions
    Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Office 365

    OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
    Snowflake SnowPro Certification preferred
    Informatica Certified Professional (ICP) preferred

    The targeted salary for this role is:
    $116, $150,996.00
