    Summary


    Our software teams employ an Agile Scrum process to rapidly design, code, and integrate capabilities into a mature Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution.

    Work includes developing and integrating applications that provision loosely coupled systems and capabilities which can be reused, discovered, and linked to build mission threads.

    DevSecOps and operations responsibilities also apply. This position is specifically for an OpenShift Subject Matter Expert (SME) position on the Agile Core Services (ACS) team.

    Duties And Responsibilities


    Train and enable current development team in the deployment maintenance of OpenShift, as well as the development of container native applications and microservice design patterns.

    Manage the container platform ecosystem (installation, upgrade, patching, monitoring)
    Assist in change management of container platform for new versions of OpenShift, Hotfixes, SysAdmin tasks, etc.
    Design, implement, develop, and integrate software that powers infrastructure services to support data mediation, orchestration and machine-to-machine messaging.
    Integrate multi-functional applications into container-based support services.
    Write well designed, testable and efficient code that meets technical requirements.
    Participate in a highly collaborative team environment, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle using Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
    Assist in the troubleshooting of code defects and deployment of timely fixes.
    Deliver projects on time and with attention to quality.
    Document code utilizing government identified configuration management tools.
    Deploy software into the operational environment.
    Deploying, installing and troubleshooting software at the Fleet and Navy test facilities.
    Troubleshoot software code issues and report findings.
    Review and provide feedback on project technical documentation pertinent to Fleet.

    Assist with trouble tickets with the ability to create, update, and close tickets, and track items to resolution (Confluence, JIRA).

    May be asked to be part of the Operations Team, supporting installations and system maintenance ranging from locally to internationally at labs, naval shore sites, and on-board naval vessels.

    This position may require travel from San Diego to CONUS and OCONUS locations. The expected travel requirement is approximately 2 weeks per year (5%).

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
    4 to 8 (Four to eight +) or more years of experience in a software engineering role.
    An existing US Security Clearance (Interim SECRET or above).
    Security+/DOD IAT Level II Certification required.
    Experience demonstrating competencies including researching, analyzing, installing, and testing software updates, patches and hotfixes. Experience troubleshooting software code issues and reporting on findings.
    2+ years of experience focused on containers, Kubernetes, and DevOps
    At least 2 years of hands-on experience with RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration platforms.
    Hands on experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ansible, and Python.
    Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of business users and management.
    Ability to work individually and on team projects in an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
    Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.

    Additional Preferred Qualifications

    TS/SCI security clearance
    Two years of experience managing or developing OpenShift or Kubernetes infrastructures.
    Experience with and understanding of KubeFrame.

    Experience with additional container, virtualization, or cloud technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, VMware vSphere, Amazon Web Services (AWS), etc.

    Exposure to working with DISA, NIST, or STIG security guidelines and how to adhere to them.

    Pay Range

    The pay range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 Annually. This is a reasonable estimate for this role.

    Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to:

    business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
