    Fiber Optic Cable Design Engineer

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Cable Design Engineer to join our Cable Connectivity Solutions Team in Claremont, NC. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing new fiber optic cable products, collaborating with other groups to develop materials, physical construction, and process optimization.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Design and implementation of new fiber optic cable products
    • Collaborate with other groups to develop materials, physical construction, and process optimization
    • Manage projects using CommScope's project management system
    • Provide technical support for fiber optic cable products
    • Develop and implement test plans, analyze data, and create test reports
    • Routinely display initiative in achieving goals and objectives focused on cost reduction and innovation

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical curriculum (mechanical, electrical, or related)
    • 2-5 years of related experience in the fiber optic cable manufacturing industry
    • Experience working with design or manufacturing of fiber ribbons and ribbon fiber cable
    • Able to interface with Manufacturing personnel and coordinate development work in a manufacturing environment
    • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products
    • Creative, analytical technical problem-solver
    • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance day-to-day activities with project activity
    • Able to work independently and productively with little supervision
