Medical Oncology Registered Nurse wanted in central Tennessee

This is a 32-bed medical unit that specializes in the care of medical and oncology patients. The ages range from young adults to geriatrics. We specialize in chemotherapy and radiation. We also care for patients with end of life conditions, so they may have the most peaceful and pain free passing. There is a variety of illness, diseases, and diagnoses. Nurse to patient ratio is 5:1 in this unit.

This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Oversees the work of other professional and non-professional personnel.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. MUST have Oncology Experience
2. BLS and ACLS Certifications
3. Fundamentals of chemotherapy course
4. OCN within 1 year
