- Performs all MRI procedures and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the operation of all equipment in the MRI area. Position is on an as needed basis. Hours vary.
- Safely operates the scanner and injector in order to produce diagnostic quality MRI images.
- Understands computer software of the MRI scanners and maintains competency in the MRI area.
- Consistently applies working knowledge pertaining to MRI anatomy and patho-physiology to produce high standard of quality images while under the direction of the Radiologist.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Participates in staff/student orientation and training. Performs venipuncture for appropriate exams.
- Performing duties of other department members as deemed necessary.
- Provides support in any department area.
- Demonstrate a complete knowledge and understanding of operating MRI scan units and processing equipment. Demonstrate the ability to do minor trouble shooting.
- Perform all scanning functions in a quick and organized manner in order to keep within the time frame that patients are scheduled. Patient output should be equal to other MRI staff.
- Recognize when to use protocols and when to alter protocols based on the condition of the patient.
- Perform skillful administration of I.V. contrast and demonstrate knowledgeable use of pressure injectors.
- Demonstrate an adequate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Meet the minimal knowledge required to operate the Advantage Windows workstation.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate and load the laser processor and perform minor trouble shooting.
- Review patient record for patient safety, accurate history, medical necessity and verification of order and document information 100% of the time. Complete all computer verification functions 100% of the time prior to end of shift.
- Participate in maintaining adequate stock of supplies at all times.
- Utilize effective communication skills (written and verbal) interacting with co-workers, other hospital employees, supervisors, and outside vendors.
- Promote JHMHs role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Provides support or relief for other staff as needed.
- Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
- Reflect JHMH values and is sensitive to JHMHs ethical and compliance principals in his/her daily activities.
- Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation.
- Able to prioritize daily functions/tasks
- Display a willingness to put forth effort in problem solving
