    Psychiatrist Job Opening at Columbia University Medical Center

    Position Titles: Instructor and Assistant Professor level positions in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia

    University Medical Center (CUMC)

    Job Description:

    The Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center seeks to fill multiple clinical faculty positions for adult psychiatrists at the Instructor and Assistant Professor level. For all positions, responsibilities will include a combination of providing direct patient care, including assessment and psychotherapy, and teaching and supervision of psychology and/or psychiatry trainees and medical students.

    Clinical work will consist mostly of providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatments. Psychiatrists generally focus on 30-minute visits geared towards medication management. The setting would be in the outpatient primary care and community psychiatry clinics. There will be an integrated care component with services co-located within a primary care clinic. There will also be a component of virtual telemental health. The settings require flexibility, consultative skills, and active collaboration with other providers and team members.

    Relevant experience includes providing diagnostic psychiatric evaluations and psychopharmacologic and short-term psychotherapeutic treatments for a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses. Working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team with strong interpersonal and communication skills is important.

    Candidates will have opportunities to attend case conferences, peer supervision, and Grand Rounds at CUIMC. Candidates will work closely with a clinical team, including other psychiatrists, as well as psychologists/clinical social workers and psychiatric nurse-practitioners. Opportunities may exist for clinical supervision and teaching.

    Minimum Educational Requirements:

    MD or DO from accredited institution

    New York State License

    Active DEA License

    Board certification

    For MDs: appointment at the Instructor level requires graduation from a psychiatric residency program. Assistant

    Professor requires board certification in psychiatry and 2+ years independent clinical experience post residency.
