Seaman Corporation is seeking a Director of Supply Chain to join our Operations team This position will report to the VP of Operations in Wooster.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Supply Chain will develop, execute, and lead the organization's procurement and supply chain initiatives with an emphasis on supporting and driving overall margin improvement.
This position will focus on company performance objectives including purchasing, selection of and relationships with suppliers, strategic sourcing, inventory of raw materials, finished goods and components, shipping and receiving, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages and develops strategic sourcing and key supplier partnerships to ensure optimal utilization and customer satisfaction in support of company strategic goals.
Manages vendor contracts and maintain strong working relationships with vendors to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met while minimizing risk to the business.
Develops strategy for dual sourcing for key raw materials, supplies and/or components in a global marketPlans, organizes, and directs materials procurement and management processes to provide the company with materials and supplies at a high level of effectiveness and efficiency
Analyzes/visualizes the total procurement process and locates problem areas using process mapping to locate, quantify, and correct root causes of problems.
Manages demand, supply and inventory processed for the organization (SIOP)Gathers and analyzes supply chain related data; maintains accuracy of all data.
Works collaboratively with functional and operational managers to ensure supply activities are integrated throughout the business.
Oversees activities related to strategic material requirements planning, controlling inventory, warehousing, and receiving.
Identifies best practices for developing, collaborating and implementing effective strategies to drive innovation with focus on internal and external continuous improvement to support operational objectives.
Collaborates cross functionally with plant operations, Customer Service, Innovation and R&D to monitor customer demand patterns.Analyzes demand and supply for stock placement and mix optimization, using quantitative and cost benefit analysis, data mining, and database management functions.
Identifies slow moving and obsolete inventory and work with Finance, Operations and Product Management to recommend and execute disposition.Ensures compliance with all government regulations.
Fosters a culture of collaboration, agility, speed, accuracy, and innovation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred director or executive-level with supply chain and/or procurement experience.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of managerial experience in operations in an industrial manufacturing environment delivering innovative and strategic solutions to meet business growth opportunities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
Directly supervises the Procurement Manager, Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, and Sr Procurement Specialist
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
10-20%
