    Position Introduction

    The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission is responsible for a broad range of recruitment, admission and marketing related efforts for the Office of Graduate Admission at Saint Mary's. The Assistant Director's main goal is to work with the Dean, Enrollment Management and Marketing, the Director of Graduate Studies, and a small marketing team to recruit successful graduate students at the masters and doctoral level.

    Essential Job Functions
    • Must be able to effectively and successfully manage the flow of information between the admission function and the relevant graduate programs and departments
    • Ability to use, interpret and analyze data to determine the most effective utilization of resources
    • Must be committed to an enrollment management and team-approach, to solve graduate recruitment challenges
    • Ability to represent Saint Mary's College effectively within the academic community and with prospective graduate students, their families and alumni, and within professional organizations
    • Designing and implementing marketing campaigns for graduate recruitment
    • Write, edit and design robust email and print campaigns for graduate students and influencers
    • Coordinates the implementation of emerging technologies
    • Work with marketing vendors on Search Engine Optimization content and digital marketing
    • Ability to create relevant and meaningful marketing and web content and maintain the effective functionality of the website
    • In collaboration with the Director of Graduate Studies and the graduate program
      directors, manage the application and decision notification process for applicants.
    • Work alongside a team to schedule and manage campus visits and events for prospective graduate students.
    • Represent graduate admission on the graduate program committee
    • Collaborate with the graduate program directors and other departments on campus to recruit and retain graduate students. These departments include integrated marketing and communications, student financial services, campus ministry, campus safety, and other support services on campus
    • Manage the graduate assistantship application process, room assignments, supervision and manage any issues or concerns related to on campus graduate housing (GA and non-GA).
    • Develop, implement, and manage programs and services that support students' development. This will include advising the Graduate Student Association (GSA),
      developing and implementing co-curricular programming for graduate students; and assisting in the Graduate Assistantship placements to ensure a quality experience for both students and SMC offices.
    • Assist with the coordination of annual events including individual program orientation, the Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony, and Commencement.
    • Travel as needed to meet with prospective students and other key constituents to promote the College's graduate programs.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • A minimum of one year in an admission office in higher education, preferably at the graduate level
    • Experience with communication and marketing, including writing marketing emails and editing written communications and publications
    • Experience utilizing traditional and digital marketing tools
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and social skills, as well as familiarity with program planning and trends for graduate student programs
    • Must possess excellent writing and interpersonal skills
    • Must have outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with individuals from all backgrounds
    • Must possess the ability to establish priorities, work independently and manage time wisely
    • Must be able to function independently; possessing sound reasoning and judgment capabilities; and be able to effectively direct the work of others
    • Must be highly organized and able to establish priorities; ability to multi-task highly desirable.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all constituencies, including prospective graduate students, applicants, alumni, faculty, students, and staff
    • Bachelor's Degree
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's Degree
    • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and program development
    • Experience with customer relationship management software such as Slate
    • 3+ years in college admission or marketing setting
    Schedule

    40 Hours/ 12 Months/ Monday - Friday
