The Temporary Preserve Ranger performs land stewardship public contact maintenance and habitat restoration from February to September Maintains and improves structures trails and picnic areas maintains equipment vehicles water systems promotes safety awareness among the public staff establishes positive professional relationships with local residents community groups educational business entities explains dual mission of TWC coordinates promotes facilitates volunteer programs for land stewardship outdoor education opportunities within Sonoma Coast preserve system primarily an outdoor position working independently in all weather conditions regular punctual attendance weekend work evening workResponsibilities
- Effectively relate TWC's mission to general public interact positively with visitors residents community groups aid fostering preserve diverse equitable inclusive gateway outdoors greets visitors provides access other information ensures safety enforces Preserve rules regulations engages visitors sign up .
- Designs leads volunteer educational service-learning projects aligning land stewardship recreational enhancements on Preserve guided wildflower hikes birding hikes invasive plant removal efforts etc.
