    The Insurance Verification Specialist will work primarily with the Patient Financial Services department and be responsible for data entry, insurance verification and account follow-up. The Insurance Verification Specialist will be responsible for verifying patient-eligibility, coordinating benefits, facilitating insurance coverage and prior authorizations. Provides a variety of patient account services by collecting, analyzing and reporting various patient demographic data, within a deadline and detail-oriented environment.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma - some college preferred
    • Two years of experience working in the healthcare industry, or accounts receivable field
    • Working knowledge of eligibility verification and prior authorizations for payment from various HMOs, PPOs, commercial payers and other funding sources preferred
    • Working knowledge of medical terminology and revenue cycle preferred
    • Must possess excellent computer skills with a well-rounded knowledge of various software programs (i.e., Word, Excel)
    • Self-starter with ability to work under general supervision and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to work cross-functionally to resolve issues in a fast-paced environment

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the entry and completion of data fields necessary to complete billing to the correct pay source
    • Insurance verification
    • Prior authorizations
    • Medical records (i.e. face-sheet, PCS, hospital records)
    • Account follow-up with insurance
    • Police reports and auto liens
    • Process return mail
    • Skip tracing
