    Building Engineering Services Business Group Manager Description

    Role Overview:

    • Lead and expand the Building Engineering Services Business Group in the IL/IN Area.
    • Provide a wide range of engineering, consulting, planning, and program management services to clients in the Illinois/Indiana region.
    • Develop strategies to grow the business and broaden the client base.
    • Oversee a team of about 12 staff members handling building engineering projects in the Area.

    The Building Engineering Services group delivers mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, civil, structural, and specialty design services for various building types, including public, private, and Federal projects. Apart from managing project delivery, the role involves implementing growth strategies, focusing on responsible expansion opportunities in specific market sectors.

    Responsibilities:

    • Participate in strategic client and project pursuits.
    • Potentially manage projects and provide technical services.
    • Oversee quality of deliverables and mentor staff.
    • Collaborate with HDR's Business Groups and National Directors.

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:

    • BS in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or a related Engineering field.
    • PE license.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in building MEP, civil, or structural project delivery.
    • Proven track record in delivering quality projects effectively.
    • Strong communication and people skills.
    • Marketing experience.
    • Success in driving growth initiatives.
    • Familiarity with HDR's business groups and market sectors.
    • Prior consulting experience (preferred).
    • Commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR's values.
    • Active participation in the employee-owned culture.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Preferably based locally in the Chicago market.
