    We are seeking an Enterprise Monitoring Tools Analyst for the application monitoring team. This position can be an opportunity to learn Enterprise Systems Monitoring tools and grow into a senior position. This position is in Eagan, MN, and this is an on-site position with no telecommute possibilities. This position will assist the development and engineering monitoring tools within the USPS enterprise. The selected individual will be expected to work independently with a minimum of guidance or direction. (There is no relocation assistance for this position)
    Roles and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
    AppDynamics:
    • Monitor the system, troubleshoot, deployment, and end-to-end support in an enterprise environment.
    • Implement polices to monitor business transactions within applications.
    • Implement Service Endpoints for applications.
    • Creating of custom dashboards within AppDynamics
    Neustar:
    • Monitor the system, troubleshoot, deployment, and end-to-end support in an enterprise environment.
    • Daily monitoring of all active monitors - Check overall performance and troubleshoot any monitors that are in "warning" or "failed" status.
    • Complete service requests tickets by updating scripts, monitors, and alerting policies as needed.
    • Modify and add new users upon request.
    SolarWinds:
    • Monitor the system, troubleshoot, deployment, and end-to-end support in an enterprise environment.
    • Daily monitoring of all active transactions - Check overall performance and troubleshoot any transactions that are in "warning" or "failed" status.
    • Complete service requests tickets by updating recordings, transactions, and custom properties as needed.
    • Create and submit change requests when performing any changes/updates to software on servers.
    General Roles/Responsibilities:
    • Troubleshoot network related events including firewalls blocking ports, etc. by submitting requests to open firewalls.
    • Provides periodic reports to users and managers of monitoring status.
    • Provides action plan for resolution of any/all faults detected.
    • Develops and implements operational management process and procedures.
    • Develop growth plans to ensure that the hosting environment can support the projected growth.
    • Develop and implement procedures that support proactive problem detection and avoidance, including disaster recovery planning and implementation.
    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience within information technology or related field.
    • Have some experience with any monitoring tool, which can include any of the following: AppDynamics, SolarWinds, Neustar, Zabbix.
    • Must possess solid working knowledge on Windows and Unix Operating systems.
    • Expected to work independently with a minimum of guidance or direction.
    • Experience architecting and engineering software for use within a large organization and enterprise, including automation management.
    • Experience using any (application/hardware/OS/network/portal) monitoring tools and responding to system alerts.
    • Should have thorough understanding of SNMP & networking.
    • Should possess good communication skills, interpersonal skills, and customer support skills.
    • Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance - US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) and must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in last 5 years.
    • Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Moderate level and experience with Linux, and Windows.
    • Ability to create new scripts within Neustar based on application team needs.
    • Ability to create/setup new records and monitors within SolarWinds based on application team needs.
    • Some knowledge in monitoring system design, development, and end-to-end support in an enterprise environment.
    • Moderate understanding of system calls with knowledge of how to programmatically use these calls to develop system monitoring.
    • Moderate experience in developing various integrations using Shell/BASH.
    • Experience in working as a part of a team involved in the implementation of enterprise monitoring solutions.
    • Experience developing business and IT KPI's for monitoring systems and applications.
    • Experience in Service Impact Management and/or Event Management.
    • Moderate level of knowledge of AppDynamics, SolarWinds, Neustar, Zabbix.
