    Description

    The Fleet Manager and Safety Director is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's fleet of hydrovac trucks, overseeing safety programs, and training field team members. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of the company's operations.

    Key Deliverables

    • Fleet Uptime: Design and implement an effective maintenance schedule to ensure 99% uptime for all company trucks, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
    • Safety Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive safety training program for all field employees, promoting a culture of zero incidents.
    • Communication and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of truck uptime, maintenance activities, and incidents. Providing regular reports and updates.
    • Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor new hires on truck maintenance, usage, and safety regulations, ensuring proper onboarding and continuous skill development within the team.

    Responsibilities

    • Fleet Management:
    • Oversees the maintenance and repair of all company trucks.
    • Ensures that scheduled and routine maintenance is performed.
    • Maintains relationships with equipment and parts representatives.
    • Keeps records of all scheduled and repair services
    • Manages truck inventory lists.
    • Orders supplies, parts, etc. as needed.
    • Manages maintenance budgets.
    • Maintains records of uptime, maintenance, and incidents

    Safety

    • Ensures the proper safety training of all field employees.
    • Coordinates delivery and documentation of training
    • Promotes a strong safety culture within the company.
    • Provides feedback when necessary to ensure field crews are maintaining safety standards.
    • Coordinates write ups of incidents and near miss reports
    • Reviews these reports at management meetings and shares lessons learned with individuals and crew.
    • Leads and coordinates weekly safety meetings.
    • Trains new hires on truck usage and maintenance, jobsite expectations, and safety regulations
    • Training and HR:
    • Supports all employees in continuous training opportunities.
    • Provides ongoing training on company standards and expectations.
    • Participates in the hiring process with interviews and evaluating driving competency.
    • Escalates concerns to the management team as needed.
    • Guides and counsels crews on proper communications and behaviors both internally and externally
    • Additional duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in managing and maintaining a fleet of vehicles.
    • Strong knowledge of hydrovac equipment operation and maintenance
    • Excellent safety record
    • Proven ability to train and coach others.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • CDL license with appropriate endorsements
    • Minimum of OSHA 30, additional safety certifications may be required.
