    Job Description:


    In this position, you will deliver quality medical services to a diverse student population through outpatient student health centers across two campus locations.

    This position serves alongside a high performing and caring team in the Health and Wellness Services department that incorporates both medical and counseling student services.

    This college year (9 month) position works under the clinical supervision of a contracted Medical Director (M.D.) and the administrative supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Wellbeing and Student Support.

    An expected start date will be in early August 2024.


    The provider in this position will help develop & maintain standards of nursing performance and actively suggest & implement innovative enhancements to the medical care of college students.

    A key component of this position is the ability to work collaboratively with other members of Health and Wellness Services, the Medical Director, and internal and external stakeholders to enhance the quality of patient care within the Alfred State community.


    Responsibilities:
    Deliver and oversee effective delivery of clinical services to students on both the Wellsville campus and the Alfred campus. Manage acute illnesses including assessment, diagnosis, provision of patient health education and initiating orders for laboratory tests, x-rays, etc. as necessary Knowledge of electronic medical records and electronic New York state prescription prescribing procedures Ensure meticulously accurate and thorough health recordkeeping Provide health screening and education Refer to specialty or emergency care as appropriate Deliver effective medical and administrative supervision to nursing staff across two campuses including annual performance evaluations Collaborate with the Department of Health and other key stakeholders to enhance health services to students Engage in regular supervision and consultation with the Medical Director Collaborate with counseling staff in the diagnosis & treatment of patients including assisting in appropriate referrals when needed Serve as subject matter expert contributing to the development & implementation of preventative and educational health and wellness programs

    PM18*Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:
    Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant with current licensure in the state of New York Patient-driven, inquisitive, compassionate, independent and dedicated to improving the health of students Trained in the diagnosis and treatment of commonly encountered medical problems of a college aged population freeing the contracted medical director to deal with more complex issues Evidence of success in a clinical setting with at least two years post graduate experience working in outpatient medical setting One or more years of urgent care experience including the ability to suture wounds Familiarity with electronic management systems Ability to provide culturally competent medical care to a diverse student body

    Demonstrated progression of increasing levels of responsibility and independence of work Supervisory experience Experience with a culturally diverse adolescent & young adult population Experience in the higher education setting


    Additional Information:
