- Conduct initial and periodic medical history and physical exams
- Record exam findings, assessments, and care plans
- Perform minor office-based procedures
- Prescribe medications and administer treatments
- Interpret lab and radiology results
- Develop treatment plans for patients
- Advocate for the patient population
- Provide mentorship and support for other APPs
- Participate in the development of clinical and operational policies
- Ensure quality metric goals are met
- Coordinate recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of APPs
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities

Chief Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at Atrium Health

The Chief APP will be responsible for managing the APPs in Charlotte, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, HR tasks, performance management, and scheduling. Collaboration with other APP leaders and physicians is essential to ensure high clinical performance standards. This leadership position involves working closely with internal teams to establish and achieve common goals centered on promoting well-being and productivity for our clients.
Essential Functions:
Physical Requirements: This role involves various physical activities including walking, standing, lifting, and bending. Must have the ability to handle patients and medical equipment, as well as react effectively in stressful situations.
Education, Experience, and Certifications: Candidates must have or be eligible for a DEA license and be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Five years of APP experience is required, with management/supervisory experience preferred. Certification from a recognized body in the respective area of practice is necessary.
Nurse Practitioner: Must have a Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice, RN license, and FNP board certification.
Physician Assistant: Graduation from an accredited PA program, preferably with a Master's Degree, and certification from NCCPA.
