    POSITION FEATURES:



    Salaried Position

    PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

    Collaborates with the Facility Manager, facility staff, and physician to manage the facility operations and patient procedures ensuring top-notch patient care daily in line with company policies, procedures, and training. Offers nursing support to patients and staff. Assists in staffing, staff training, equipment, physician and patient relations, cost management, supply control, medical records, patient billing, OSHA, and all regulatory compliance.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    QUALITY:

    • Ensures high-quality standards by meeting regulatory demands and practicing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles, using CQI tools.
    • Aids in setting quality objectives and formulates facility-specific plans to meet these standards.
    • Responsible for top-notch patient care quality, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
    • Helps in providing necessary training as per policy; maintains compliance with risk management initiatives.
    • Promptly addresses adverse events and action thresholds.
    • Communicates and enforces Quality policies and procedures to the facility staff.
    • Manages medical records and other administrative records with integrity.
    • Follows data collections and auditing activities.
    • Maintains facility safety and environmental standards.

    PATIENT RELATED:

    • Coordinates all patient care aspects with the relevant staff from admission to discharge.
    • Consults with patients before procedures, performs nursing assessment on the procedure day.
    • Educates patients and families on post-procedure vascular access care.
    • Acts as a resource for addressing patient queries and concerns.
    • Ensures efficient scheduling of patient procedures and optimum facility utilization.
    • Assists in patient workflow and provides direct patient care as required.
    • Identifies and communicates patient issues to the Facility Manager.
    • Ensures accurate documentation of patient treatments from admission to discharge.
    • Confirms completion and documentation of written orders, consents, and lab work.
    • Takes charge in emergency situations, maintaining competency in emergency procedures.
    • Administers medications and IV conscious sedation per physician's orders and regulations.

    PHYSICIANS:

    • Maintains regular and effective communication with physicians as needed.
    • Participates in Governing Body meetings, assisting with agenda and data/material gathering.
    • Attends CQI meetings with physicians and reports designated topics.
    • Works with physicians and staff to ensure access to necessary instruments and equipment.

    MAINTENANCE/TECHNICAL:

    • Ensures proper functioning of facility equipment, including patient monitors, defibrillators, etc.
    • Regularly inspects facility equipment and reports malfunctions promptly.
    • Oversees inspection of facility operating systems and maintains cleanliness and safety.
    • Keeps the vascular access facility sanitary and safe at all times.
    • Addresses blood spills promptly following company policies.

    ADMINISTRATIVE:

    • Engages in cost control initiatives and optimizes medication, inventory, and equipment use.
    • Assists in developing and updating facility policies to drive continuous improvement.
    • Conducts Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities and reports as necessary.
    • Manages medications, including ordering, inventory control, and disposal compliance.
    • Ensures accurate and complete medical records in compliance with policies.
    • Coordinates staff testing and facility surveys for compliance.
    • Verifies accurate records for implanted devices and oversees vendor invoices.
    • Acts as Facility Manager as needed and ensures nurse progress notes accuracy.
    • Leads patient safety meetings and drills, ensuring HIPPA compliance.
    • Performs other assigned duties.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • The job involves desk work, computer interaction, and patient, staff, and physician engagement.
    • Requires travel between facilities and community locations, attending regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings.
    • Typical healthcare facility environment with controlled temperature and moderate noise levels.
    • Potential exposure to infectious materials.

    SUPERVISION:

    • Directly supervises various levels of patient care staff.

    EDUCATION:

    • Preferably a Bachelor's Degree; Advanced Degree desirable
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.)
    • Current state licensure and ACLS certification required.

    EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • 6-8 years of relevant experience.
    • 3+ years of supervisory or project management experience preferred.
    • Minimum 3 years in Ambulatory Surgical Center/Vascular Access Lab or equivalent.
    • Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Medical database software.
    • Demonstrated management skills for leading facility personnel and ensuring quality care.
    • Effective verbal and written communication.
    • Certified in CPR or willing to undergo CPR certification.
